So this one of my first efforts at spinning roving yarn a bit all over the place!!
And this is my second attempt a bit better but still not good enough I hope it improves as I practice. I will ply this and also dye it.
And this is wait for it meeeeeeeeeeeeee trying to spin and looking like I know what I am doing! L.O.L.
What a big improvement from your first go-round to your second! I'm very impressed. If that's how much you improved just from one to the other, you'll be spinning like a pro in no time!
ReplyDeleteYou look like you are having so much fun! I'm trying to decide if I'm ready to take the plunge. My biggest dilemma would be what to do with all the yarn!
ReplyDeleteFrom the looks of it, you'll be a pro in no time. Spinning fascinates me. It's a good thing I have no room for a wheel or else I'd be drowning in wool! Keep us posted on your progress and dyeing, too.
ReplyDeleteMy first attempts didn't look nearly that good, and I still have them so I can prove it! Looks like you are enjoying it and that's what counts!
ReplyDeleteYou look like you've got it!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful wheel! You do look like you know what you are doing, LOL!! You will get better with practice. I've been spinning on a spindle and my first attempts were pretty nasty looking.
ReplyDeleteHi Margaretha,
ReplyDeleteYou have done well with your wheel, you look like a pro, well done on your first and second efforts. Hope you are keeping well and had a lovely Easter
Margaret
Ha, ha! That's how we new spinners are! I didn't think my shoulders would ever relax enough to stop covering my ears!
ReplyDeleteLater, you will sometimes wish you could spin like you did when you first started....you'll see.
Well, hello there, M! You sure look determined and seriously committed to learning this arcane skill! I am certain are going to produce wonderful things with this lovely wheel.
ReplyDeleteYour roving came out beautifully and will be amazing when spun. Have fun!
Fox : )
It's always exciting to learn something new. Your learning curve is very short comparing the 1st and 2nd samples. Great job! I don't think it is something I will ever be good at. I'm quite happy watching someone else excel at this!
